NOTE TO ALL R1150 RT AND R1150R OWNERS
WE'RE OK!
We've put Hyper-Lite brake enhancement kits on dozens of 1150s with the new brake system, and had several put through the mill by BMW techs.
Hyper-Lite kits
DO NOT AFFECT THE NEW ABS SENSOR SYSTEMS IN ANY WAY.
We're just too darned efficient. Our 280 miliamp current draw is well under the amperage
necessary to trigger the sensors. SO if you are the proud owner of a new BMW do not hesitate to e mail us for your Hyper-Lite kit.
"So How Are The BMW Hyper Lites Different Than The Universals?"
Most come with the wiring ready to plug in.
A note from a customer:
A note from the installation, as I saw it: (K1200RS) The "cut down" connectors used to connect the wires on the brake lamp were "cut down" too much! They literally fell off the light housing after being slid into place. I had to try to come up with some method to ensure they wouldn't fall off. I hope that they don't eventually work themselves loose and fall off due to vibrations. Other than that, the installation was easy enough, and I now feel safer, having those bright lights getting the attention of other drivers.
Motorcycle Lighting replies:
Not a complaint we get often, but he's right. There are no .185 piggybacks made anywhere in the world, so we have to modify them. Actually, the real problem was not width but tightness. They needed to pinch the female together a bit. Probably got widened while working the OEM connection apart.
